Come and join us at East Mission Bay beach on Saturday, June 25th at 5:30 p.m. for a picnic, bonfire and to send off the witch to Bloksbjerg. Feel free to come early to enjoy the day on the beach.
We will cook hot dogs and snobrød (homemade bread dough) over the bonfire and sing the traditional Sankt Hans songs.

Bring a blankets or beach chairs. We will have access to a couple of large picnic tables to serve the food.
The House of Denmark will supply the hot dogs and condiments for sharing. Please bring your own side dishes, chips, dessert and snacks. House of Denmark will provide firewood.
Remember to bring something warm to wear when it cools down, and don’t forget your sunscreen!
How You Can Help:
- We need dough for snobrød. Please let us know in your rsvp if you can make some dough.
- We need help covering 2-hour shifts from 8 a.m. to “hold” our fire pit and picnic tables until 5:30 p.m. Please let us know in your rsvp if you can help out with that.
Location: We will send our “scouts†out early in the morning to secure a fire pit near East Mission Bay Drive south of the Mission Bay Park Visitor Information Center and north of the Hilton. To find us, exit I-5 at Clairemont Drive/Mission Bay Drive, then go west towards the bay, turn left at the stop sign and follow signage towards Playa Pacifica Park. We will be further out on the small peninsula/spit just north of Hilton. You can also look across the bay for a red awning with the House of Denmark name. Please take into account that parking at the beach can be a challenge. However, there will be a passenger drop off area nearby the fire pit.
Please RSVP by June 20 by calling Oda at 858-254-6295. Â
