Come and participate in creating traditional Danish craft associated with Spring and Easter.
This event is held in the House of Denmark cottage. We will make various traditional Easter crafts and gækkebreve.
Sending a Gækkebrev (teaser letter) is one of the best and most loved among the Danes. The sender of the letter is anonymous. The letter will have short poems or rhymes and is signed with a number of dots corresponding to the number of letters in the sender’s name, so that the recipient has a chance of guessing who sent the letter. If the receiver cannot guess the sender’s identity by Easter, the receiver will have to give an Easter egg to the sender, and if the receiver guess who the letter is from, then the sender will have to give him/her a Easter Egg.
Immediately after the craft activity in the House of Denmark, we will walk over to the Hall of Nations and enjoy Phase II of our Easter celebration which is called PÃ¥skebord (Easter Buffet).
